Work With Brian D. Mahan, SEP

One-on-one sessions for individuals and couples, on Zoom, anywhere in the world.

You don't need to be “ready,” and you don't need the perfect words. You just need a next step your nervous system can take.

Two ways to begin

Book a session

If you already know you want to work with me, start here. Sessions are 60 or 90 minutes, one at a time or in packages of 5 or 10, for individuals and couples.

Book a 30-minute consultation

If you'd like clarity first, we'll talk about what brought you here, whether this work is the right next step, and what a path forward could look like. If I'm not the right person for you, I'll help you find the right person.

Either way, request session information. Rates, availability, and next steps arrive by email the same day.

What happens next

  1. You request session information.
  2. You receive rates, availability, and a link to schedule.
  3. Once you book: a confirmation email, two short forms, and a service agreement to sign.
  4. A secure Zoom link arrives a few moments before your session.

Scheduling shows available times in your own time zone. Nothing else is required. Come exactly as you are.

What a session is like

  • We work with your nervous system in small, manageable pieces. You don't have to retell your whole story.
  • You'll need a private, quiet space. Some clients use a home office. Some sit in their car in the driveway.
  • My job is to get you to quit seeing me, so I front-load you with tools you can use on your own.

Couples sessions

I don't do mediation. I help each partner understand how their developmental trauma shaped the adult they became, and how those old patterns show up in the relationship today.

Together, we look at:

  • How early survival strategies drive adult behavior
  • The defenses underneath each person's communication style
  • How each nervous system responds under stress

The goal: less blame, more understanding, and a way back to each other.

“Even though you can't change one detail about the reality of what actually happened, it is undeniable that the most challenging times hold the potential to be the most transformative.”
